PRIVACY POLICY

This policy explains what information deadbaron.com and the games on it (including Neon Asteroids) use, and why. The short version: there are no accounts, we don't collect your name or email through the games, we use Google Analytics to count visits and game activity, and we don't sell personal information.

INFORMATION STORED ON YOUR DEVICE

The games save a few settings in your browser's local storage so they're remembered next time — for example, whether sound is on and whether you've already seen the control hints. These stay on your device and are never sent to us. You can clear them at any time by clearing your browser's site data.

MULTIPLAYER CONNECTIONS

Online matches connect your device directly to your opponent's device using WebRTC. To make that connection:

• Your device's IP address is visible to the other player's device, as with any direct peer-to-peer connection.
• Public signaling relays (Nostr relays) are used briefly to let the two devices find each other. They see connection messages and your IP address.
• STUN servers (operated by Google and Metered) help your device discover its public network address.
• If a direct link isn't possible, match traffic is passed through a relay server operated by Metered (metered.ca). Game data only — positions, shots and scores — is exchanged.

We don't operate a game server and don't keep logs of matches or players.

ANALYTICS

We use Google Analytics to understand how the site and games are used — for example how many people are playing, which countries and types of device they play from, how many rounds are played and how often online connections fail, so we can fix problems. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as your approximate location (derived from your IP address), device, browser and the pages you visit. We don't send your name, email or any other information that identifies you. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services; you can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

ADVERTISING

This site may show ads served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info. Learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Where required by law (for example in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland), you'll be asked for consent before analytics or advertising cookies are used.

This site is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub may log visitors' IP addresses for security and operational purposes; see GitHub's privacy statement.

CHILDREN

The games are suitable for general audiences but are not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children.
